(91-94) points Burghound: "In much the same fashion as the Pézerolles this is presently very toasty and it's enough where the wood pushes the spicy black pinot fruit to the background if not completely hides it. The supple and very round large-scaled flavors possess excellent concentration and an intense minerality on the powerful and moderately austere finish. My predicted range offers the benefit of the doubt in this case because the wood does not alter the texture or sweeten the finish and thus there is a good chance that this will ultimately harmonize."
92 points Vinous: "Vivid red. Highly fragrant, displaying scents of red berries, rose and baking spices, with a hint of white pepper. Smells like a sexy Burgundy. Lithe and precise raspberry and cherry flavors show a suave blend of sweetness and energy, with zesty acidity adding lift. Finishes on a nervy mineral note, with an excellent, floral-dominated persistence. I underestimated this wine when I tasted it last year."
92 points Vinous: "Good deep red. Sexy, aromatic, high-toned nose projects a strong brown spice character. Sweet, dense and sappy, with a thickness leavened by excellent energy and an impression of extract. High-toned in a positive way, lifting the red fruit, brown spice and floral flavors. Nothing heavy about this wine, which came from grapes picked a week after Lignier's other holdings, with 13.5% natural alcohol."
